This policy explains the terms for booking tours and experiences with Discover Sipi Falls. By confirming a booking, you agree to the following terms.
1. Booking Confirmation
A tour or activity is considered confirmed only after one of the following conditions is met:
• A deposit has been received
• Full payment has been completed
• A written confirmation has been issued by Discover Sipi Falls
Some activities require advance reservations, especially during high tourist seasons.
2. Deposits
To secure a booking, a deposit may be required, depending on the tour or safari package.
Typical deposit requirements:
• Day tours and local activities: deposit may not be required but advance booking is recommended
• Multi-day tours or safaris: deposit usually ranges between 20% – 40% of the total trip cost
The remaining balance must be paid before the start of the tour or upon arrival, depending on the agreement.
3. Payment Methods
Payments may be made through:
• Bank transfer
• Mobile money
• Cash payments
• Other agreed payment methods
Any transaction fees charged by banks or payment platforms are the responsibility of the client.
4. Cancellation Policy
For Day Tours and Local Experiences
- Cancellation 48 hours before the activity: Full refund
- Cancellation 24 hours before the activity: 50% refund
- Cancellation less than 24 hours: No refund
For Multi-Day Safaris or Packages
- Cancellation 30 days before departure: Full refund minus administrative costs
- Cancellation 14–29 days before departure: 50% refund
- Cancellation less than 14 days before departure: No refund
These policies exist because accommodations, guides, and park services must be booked in advance.
5. Non-Refundable Services
Certain travel services are non-refundable once booked, including but not limited to:
• Gorilla trekking permits
• Chimpanzee permits
• Some hotel reservations
• Park entry permits
If a safari includes such services, refunds will depend on the policies of the relevant authorities or service providers.
6. Changes to Bookings
Clients may request changes to their itinerary where possible. Changes may include:
• Changing tour dates
• Adjusting the itinerary
• Modifying the number of travelers
However, changes depend on availability of accommodations, guides, and park permits.
Additional costs may apply.
7. Weather and Natural Conditions
Some activities such as:
• Hiking
• Waterfall walks
• Abseiling
• Mountain biking
may be affected by weather conditions or safety considerations.
In such cases, Discover Sipi Falls may:
• Adjust the itinerary
• Reschedule the activity
• Offer an alternative activity when possible
Guest safety is always our top priority.
8. Responsibility of Travelers
Travelers are responsible for:
• Carrying valid travel documents
• Obtaining travel insurance
• Following safety instructions from guides
• Informing us of any medical conditions relevant to activities
9. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all travelers obtain travel insurance covering:
• Trip cancellation
• Medical emergencies
• Personal belongings
• Travel delays
Discover Sipi Falls is not responsible for losses resulting from events outside our control.
10. Limitation of Liability
Discover Sipi Falls organizes travel experiences in good faith with the safety and comfort of our guests in mind.
However, we cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control including:
• Weather conditions
• Government restrictions
• Airline delays
• Natural disasters
• Actions of third-party service providers
Participation in adventure activities involves inherent risks, and guests join tours at their own responsibility.
